Thailand have announced their squad, with head coach Harshal Pathak remaining faithful to most of the players who played a part in the country reaching a first global ICC event.

Sornnarin Tippoch will captain the 15-strong squad, whose first game at the T20 World Cup will come against West Indies at the WACA in Perth.

Thipatcha Puttawong and Suwanan Khiaoto are both added to the group from the party that secured qualification at a tournament in Scotland in September, though both took part in the recent quadrangular series in India that also included Bangladesh and two India sides.

Arriya Yenyueak misses out from among those in the qualifier squad, while Phannita Maya, who was absent for the quadrangular series, returns for the showpiece in Australia.

Nattaya Boochatham was the leading wicket-taker in T20Is through 2019, while Naruemol Chaiwai was the leading run-scorer. They will both be central figures in the squad, which also includes current ICC women’s emerging player of the year CHanida Sutthiruang.

Tippoch’s side, led by Pathak who was previously a personal coach to Indian batsman Harmanpreet Kaur, will also face South Africa, England and Pakistan after beginning their campaign against Stafanie Taylor’s team.

Squad: Sornnarin Tippoch (c), Nattaya Boochatham, Wongpaka Liengprasert, Phannita Maya, Ratanaporn Padunglerd, Onnicha Kamchomphu, Naruemol Chaiwai, Chanida Sutthiruang, Nannapat Koncharoenkai, Soraya Lateh, Rosenanee Kanoh, Thipatcha Puttawong, Suleeporn Laomi, Natthakan Chantham, Suwanan Khiaoto
