Role: Right-hand bat, right-arm medium
Having only played six games for West Indies, Kirby is one of the more inexperienced members of the squad for the T20 World Cup in Australia.
At 32, the allrounder has been recalled to the squad after not taking part in international cricket for over 12 years, having played her last game on the Windies’ tour of Europe in July 2008.
After making her ODI debut against the Netherlands in 2008, then making her T20 bow the following day, she would have hoped for a longer initial stay in the international game, but this wasn’t meant to be.
Kirby was born in Trinidad, and continued to play for her senior national side throughout her absence from representing her country.
She is a medium pace bowler and a versatile and flexible batsman, capable of slotting in anywhere from opener to No.6.
