Born: August 9, 1998
Role: Right-hand bat, right-arm offbreak
Another one of the West Indies’ young and emerging prospects, Grimmond might not have the experience of some of her teammates, but she makes up for it with talent.
On her ODI debut against Australia in 2019, she showed her ability to strike the ball cleanly, hitting 31 off 37 deliveries.
She followed this impressive performance up with 34 off 24 balls in the next match.
Not only is Grimmond a hard-hitting batsman, she is useful with the ball as well, producing short but controlled spells of off-spin.
In the series against India in November 2019 she put herself into the allrounder category by taking 2-10, and has the capacity to provide reliable and consistent spells on demand.
With only 11 caps as of January 2020, the T20 World Cup in Australia represents an opportunity to play new opposition and showcase her skills in a global tournament.
