Sathya Sandeepani is Sri Lanka’s only uncapped player in their T20 World Cup squad.
The allrounder has earned her place in the squad after some impressive performances in the recent 2019 South Asian Games.
Her stand-out display of the competition was against the Maldives where she scored 96 not out off 48 balls including 11 fours and three sixes.
She was impressive with the ball too, taking 2-13 off her four overs.
Sandeepani also performed well for the Sri Lanka Emerging Women in October 2019, taking 2-26 against India Emerging Women and 2-35 against Bangladesh Emerging Women.
Her inclusion in the squad for the 2019 South Asian Games will have given her great confidence and she now has experience playing against other international teams such as Bangladesh.
She can use this recent experience to her advantage as she looks to push for a spot in what is already a competitive Sri Lanka team.
