Panna Ghosh has been with the Bangladesh Women’s squad since their first ever international game in 2011 against Ireland, in which she made her debut, with her T20 bow following in 2012 against Sri Lanka.
Having been born in Rajshahi, she has played her domestic cricket for her hometown since 2008 in all formats, before making the step up to represent her country on the international stage, which she has done on 65 occasions (as of February 1, 2020).
As she heads into her third global tournament, Ghosh's T20 credentials speak for themselves.
She holds the best T20 bowling figures for a Bangladesh woman and became only the second, behind Jahanara Alam, to take a five-wicket haul in T20s, claiming 5-16 against Ireland in the final of the 2018 T20 World Cup qualifiers, earning her the player of the match award.
Most recently she performed well in Bangladesh’s series against Pakistan at the back end of 2019, taking three wickets in two ODIs, standing her in good stead going into the World Cup.
