Her country’s top run-scorer during the 2017 World Cup Qualifier, Nattaya Boochatham’s major role now is that of a record-breaking off-spinner.
Well before Thailand’s games were classed as T20Is, Boochatham had been a huge part of Thailand’s setup for over a decade, batting at No.3 and proving a source of regular runs.
She came to the sport having first played softball and was a key part of the side that won gold at the Southeast Asian Games in a cricket competition made up of four sides.
In November 2018, she was named in a women's global development squad, to take on teams in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL).
Nobody in world cricket took as many wickets in T20Is as Boochatham managed in 2019; she plundered 40 at an average of just 6.17 and an economy rate of 3.23.
