The talented allrounder was born in Japan, on account of her mother’s role as an employee of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, before finding cricket during her time living in the Netherlands as a child.
Her travels took her to Poland as well, where she also lived in her youth.
The 27-year-old has grown into a fundamental part of England’s side, developing under Mark Robinson, who viewed her as a match-winner.
The first English woman to take a T20I hat-trick, Sciver can also lay claim to three ODI centuries.
One of Wisden’s five cricketers of the year in 2018 on the back of her role in England’s World Cup win in 2017, the ICC named her as England’s player of the tournament in the subsequent year’s World T20.
