Megan Schutt has quietly become one of the most impressive bowlers in the global game.
Since making her debut for South Australian Scorpions as a 16-year-old in the Women’s National Cricket League, Schutt’s primary skill has been her consistency.
An international bow followed soon afterwards, with the right-arm seamer called up to face New Zealand in 2012.
A year later, Schutt had confirmed herself as a vital member of Australia’s side; she was the top wicket-taker in the World Cup in 2013, picking up 15 scalps during the tournament.
The following year, she was part of the Australian side that won the Women’s Ashes in England for the first time in more than a decade.
She has since become the first Australian to pick up a T20I hat-trick, doing so against India.
Heading into the T20 World Cup, Schutt sits atop the ICC’s T20 bowling rankings.
