There have been signs of Green's undoubted talent, though without putting together the run of scores she would have liked
Born: October 20, 1992
Role: Right hand bat, offbreaks
Maddy Green has proven inconsistent at international level, but her finest hour came in a brutal dismantling of Ireland’s bowling attack in 2018.
The powerful batter struck a 77-ball 122 – with 15 fours and a six – as New Zealand racked up 491 for 4.
At domestic level, Green captained Auckland Hearts to glory in their 2017/18 Hallyburton Johnstone Shield campaign, while she would be named as the competition’s batter of the year.
By then, Green had long-since made her White Ferns debut; her bow came in a rare win over Australia while she was still a teenager.
Since then, she has never truly laid down a consistent marker.
There have been signs of her undoubted talent, though without putting together the run of scores she would have liked.
Her average in T20Is of just 10.08 is testament to a talent so far unfulfilled.
