Lizelle Lee is one of the most impactful power hitters in women’s international cricket.

Her consistent performances at the top of the order have placed her ninth in the ICC T20I batting rankings, with Lee's ttacking batting nature helping make South Africa among the formats most exciting international sides.

Lee is one of South Africa’s most experienced players and made her T20I debut against Bangladesh in 2013, going on to play 66 T20Is as of January 20, 2020.

In her T20I career to that point she had scored 1,483 runs, at an average of 25.56, a strike rate of 107.93 and with a high score of 84.

She has also played a lot of T20 franchise cricket, notably for Western Storm and Surrey Stars in the Kia Super League and for Melbourne Stars in the Women’s Big Bash. 

In the 2018 Kia Super League final, Lee hit 104 off 58 balls to take her team to victory - her maiden KSL century.

In the 2019 Kia Super League, Lee was equally as impressive, her best performance being against Lancashire Thunder when she scored 50 off just 17 balls.

Lee’s performances in the WBBL in Australia have also been outstanding. In the most recent tournament, she hit 364 runs at an average of 36.4 with a high score of 103 not out against Perth Scorchers.

In her 40 matches for Melbourne Stars, Lee has made 1,100 runs at a strike rate of 125.57 and has hit an impressive 43 sixes.

Lee’s recent form and performances in major competitions mean that she is without a doubt one of the key players to look out for in the upcoming T20 Women’s World Cup, especially as she has so much experience playing in Australia.
