Teenage spinner Kavisha Dilhari has been recalled to the Sri Lanka squad after making her last international appearance in February 2019.

Between her T20I debut in 2018 and February 2019, she played six T20Is taking two wicket, with an economy rate of 9.63 and best figures of 1-12.

Dilhari has played domestic cricket since the age of 15 and received her T20I call-up during Sri Lanka’s T20I series against India after impressing in the ODI series against the same opponents.

She has been described by Sri Lanka’s management as a future star and many are excited to see how the young allrounder develops.

Although she has not impressed with the bat so far in T20Is, she has performed better in ODIs, where she averages 29.

She was named in Sri Lanka’s squad for the 2018 T20 World Cup in St Lucia but only featured in one group-stage match against West Indies.

A year later, in November 2019, she was named vice-captain of Sri Lanka’s squad for the women’s cricket tournament at the 2019 South Asian Games.

Dilhari will hope to continue to learn from Sri Lanka’s experienced players as she looks to gain a permanent spot in the side for the upcoming competition.
