The older sister of Amelia Kerr, at this stage Jess is the international novice of the pair.
A seam bowler of considerable talent, she has impressed while playing for Wellington.
Even beyond Amelia, there is a long sporting lineage in the Kerr household.
Both parents, Jo and Robbie, played cricket at domestic level – also for Wellington.
Their grandfather, Bruce Murray, played 13 Test matches for New Zealand, with a top score of 90 coming against Pakistan in Lahore. Later on in his life, he would serve as president of Cricket Wellington.
Murray is also one of three men – with Wilf Barber and A.N. Hornby – to hold a Test bowling average of 0, having taken a single wicket without conceding a run.
Kerr’s cousin, Cilla Duncan, won 20 caps for New Zealand’s national women’s football team.
