The left-arm spinner has long been one of the finest players in Australian cricket and, perhaps, her low profile is testament more to her country’s all-round dominance.
As an 18-year-old, she was named as Queensland Fire’s player of the year.
She confirmed suspicion of those talents on her Test debut against England, making 99 in 2015 while batting in the middle order.
In more than 130 international games, she has only passed fifty once more – in the second innings of her Test bow.
However, it is with the ball where she has truly excelled, having now taken more than 150 wickets across the three formats.
With so much competition for places in the Australian ranks – certainly among a cartel of left-arm spinners, Jonassen showed off her all-round talents in 2019’s Women’s Big Bash.
She took 22 wickets – the second-most of anyone, while making 419 runs, including a title-securing 33 in the final.
