Role: Right-hand bat, right-arm medium
Hayley Jensen’s international career can be split quite nicely into two parts: then and now.
She made her debut in 2014 on a tour of West Indies, before disappearing off the national side’s radar for some time.
She only returned in 2018 – once again against the Caribbean outfit.
By then, she had played in the Women’s Big Bash and she has developed considerably as a seam bowler.
Her career has not been without its setbacks; after suffering a season-ending injury in 2014, she moved – at first temporarily – to Australia.
However, a AU$2 bet on the men’s Test match between Australia and New Zealand would see her banned from the game for six months.
On her return to the game, she remained in the country with her partner and went on to play for Melbourne Renegades in the Women’s Big Bash alongside White Ferns fast bowler Lea Tahuhu.
She returned home, however, in 2018 to fulfil her dream of representing her nation.
