At just 24, Perera has already made over 50 appearances for Sri Lanka in T20Is and ODIs.
In her 33 T20Is (up to January 30, 2020) she has scored 275 runs at an average of 10.18, with a strike rate of 71.80 and a high score of 46 not out.
Perera returns to the Sri Lanka squad after almost a year away from international cricket, with her last T20I game taking place in February 2019 against South Africa.
After making her T20I debut in 2014 against Bangladesh, she has played in two T20 World Cups already - in 2014 and 2018.
She is an aggressive cricket, capable of hitting to all areas of the ground, with her favourite shot being the lofted cover drive.
Perera has also played for the Combined Province Women and Palink Sports Club Women. Recently she represented the Sri Lanka Emerging Women and despite her mixed form, her aggressive style of play has earned her a place back in the squad as Sri Lanka try to improve on their 2018 T20 World Cup campaign.
