In 20 T20Is, Wareham had conceded her runs at an economy rate of just 5.66 – some effort for a young spinner
Born: May 26, 1999
Role: Right-hand bat, legbreaks
Australia love a leg-spinner and, in Georgia Wareham, they have found their latest.
At just 20 years of age, the Terang-born youngster has already shown proof of her immense talent.
She came in for some punishment on her international debut, conceding 15 runs from her solitary over against New Zealand in September 2018.
But even then, she dismissed Jess Watkin within her six deliveries.
It is, in many ways, the story of the wrist-spinner’s existence.
Since then, however, she has grown in stature.
In 20 T20Is (as of January 25, 2020), Wareham had conceded her runs at an economy rate of just 5.66 – some effort for a young spinner.
In 2018, her form for Australia Under-19 – she took nine wickets on a tour of South Africa – saw the ICC name Wareham as one of the breakout players in the women’s game.
