The top wicket-taker in last season’s Kia Super League, Freya Davies was appropriately rewarded with a place on England’s tour of Malaysia, where she featured three times.
The 24-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough 2019, making her international bow in March when the national side travelled to Sri Lanka.
It has been a long road, however; Davies made her Sussex debut in 2010 as a 14-year-old against Middlesex, before her first 50-over game followed two years later.
Since 2014, she has been on the radar of the England Academy, featuring against both India and South Africa while still a teenager.
She attended Brighton College – the same school as England legends Clare Connor and Sarah Taylor, before going on to study law at Exeter University.
