Despite making her debut 12 years ago, Kimmince has been solely viewed as a white-ball option; she has never played a Test for Australia
Born: May 14, 1989
Role: Right-hand bat, right-arm medium
Delissa Kimmince made her international debut in 2008 as a precociously talented 18-year-old, before taking part in her first World Cup the following year.
Now 30 years of age, the seamer is one of the sport’s more varied characters. Kimmince has spent time away from cricket, playing one game for Brisbane Lions in the AFL Women’s season in 2017 as a rookie signing at the club.
That move only lasted a single year, however; she was handed a central contract by Cricket Australia a year later, taking part in a title-winning side at the 2018 World T20.
Three years earlier, Kimmince had been named as the first captain of Brisbane Heat, replacing former Australia wicketkeeper Jodie Fields.
Despite making her debut 12 years ago, Kimmince has been solely viewed as a white-ball option; she has never played a Test for Australia.
Her range of slower deliveries and her consistency with her wicketkeeper up to the stumps have made her an integral part of Meg Lanning’s side.
