Rahman has 51 international appearances behind her, with a top score of 46 against Ireland in 2018
Born: January 14, 1994
Role: Right-hand bat
An opening batsman, Rahman has been part of the ever-improving Bangladesh squad since making her debut for the ODI side in 2012 (her T20 bow came the following year against India).
Born in Khulna, she grew up playing around her hometown and then represented Khulna women’s side, before being called up to her national team in 2012.
Rahman has 51 international appearances behind her, with a top score of 46 against Ireland in 2018. She led the Bangladesh run charts during the World T20 qualifiers, guiding her team to qualification, and then becoming leading runscorer in the 2018 T20 World Cup for her team.
As well as being an impressive batsman in the shortest format, her ODI runs have also been crucial. From her first 12 ODIs she hit 198 runs, including her highest score of 70 which she struck against South Africa in 2013 (the fifth highest ODI innings by a Bangladesh woman, just five runs off the top).
Rahman claims that even though she has won medals, such as the 2018 Women’s Asia Cup, the greatest thrill of being part of the team is opening the batting with her captain, Salma Khatun.
