Sanjeewani has faced competition from Dilani Manodara but Sanjeewani was Sri Lanka's preferred choice behind the stumps for the majority of their 2019 fixtures
Born: January 24, 1990
Role: Right-hand bat, wicketkeeper
Wicketkeeper-batsman Anushka Sanjeewani made her T20I debut against India in 2014 and has played in 22 T20Is between then and January 30, 2020.
She has faced competition from Dilani Manodara but Sanjeewani was Sri Lanka's preferred choice behind the stumps for the majority of their 2019 fixtures.
In her T20I career to January 2020 she had scored 283 runs at an average of 14.15, with a strike rate of 84.47 and a high score of 61.
She played in Sri Lanka’s 2019 T20I and ODI series’ against England and Australia and, although her performances with the bat were disappointing, she was in good form with the gloves, particularly in their ODI series against Australia.
Sanjeewani has also represented Southern Province Women and Sri Lanka Air Force Sports Club Women.
With strong competition for places in the side, Sanjeewani will look to impress early on in the hope of keeping her spot behind the stumps.
In order to do so she will have to outperform Manodara who is Sri Lanka’s oldest and third most experienced player.
