The daughter of Greg, who played for Queensland, and a niece of Ian, the former Australia keeper, Healy holds the record for the highest score in women's T20I cricket
Born: March 24, 1990
Role: Right-hand bat, wicketkeeper
The Australian wicketkeeper has become one of the most destructive forces in the women’s game.
Once upon a time, Healy was a useful middle order batsman and a reliable option with the gloves.
These days, however, there are few with the capacity to ignite quite like 29-year-old.
The daughter of Greg, who played for Queensland, and a niece of Ian, the former Australia keeper, Healy holds the record for the highest score in women’s T20I cricket, having made an unbeaten 148 against Sri Lanka in 2019.
In 2018, she was named the ICC’s T20 player of the year – a just reward for the wicketkeeper’s transformation to domineering opening batsman.
She made 225 runs in just six innings as Australia won the year’s World T20.
“When I first started playing for Australia, I never thought that I would achieve anything like this,” she admitted at the time.
“It's a huge honour and one that I will not take lightly.”
