Fletcher made an instant impact in the international arena on debut in 2008, in an ODI against Ireland Women in Dublin, with figures of 4-22 - the best by a West Indian woman on debut
Born: March 17, 1987
Role: Legbreak bowler
An impressive leg-spinner, who made her debut when she was just 21 and has taken over 100 international wickets for the West Indies, Fletcher has recently occupied a top-10 slot in the ICC T20 bowling rankings, the highest placed West Indian.
Even though she may be a quiet member of the team, going about her game in a more subdued way, the Grenadian lets her bowling do the talking out on the field.
She made an instant impact in the international arena on debut in 2008, in an ODI against Ireland Women in Dublin, with figures of 4-22 - the best by a West Indian woman on debut.
However after this impressive display, wickets did not seem to come her way, with a dry run leading to her being out of the national side for six years after the 2009 World Cup in Australia.
She did return to the international game in 2015, however, and the following year she was selected to be part of the squad who won their first trophy at the 2016 T20 World Cup.
Her best bowling figures followed, as she dismantled Sri Lanka in 2017, picking up five wickets for just 13 runs - the joint second best T20 bowling figures for West Indies Women, behind Deandra Dottin.
Fletcher still has the capacity to roll an opposition batting line-up, as she proved with four wickets for 14 runs against Ireland in May 2019.
Towards the end of 2019 she was awarded captaincy for CPL franchise Court Gladiators for two T10 exhibition matches.
Even though, she doesn’t always take the most wickets in a match, her skill and control have improved as she has matured through the game, and she has a vision to continue in the game, as she eyes up a career in coaching when her playing days are finalised.
