Fast and furious, and more than capable of single-handedly taking apart an opposing batting line-up, the left-armer is one of his country's most potent weapons
Born: January 30, 1990
Role: Left-hand bat, left-arm fast
A member of one of the most dangerous bowling attacks in world cricket, Mitchell Starc has picked up right where Mitchell Johnson left off for Australia as an exceptionally quick and exceptionally skilled left-arm seamer.
With nearly 400 wickets in his international career so far, Starc is currently Australia’s 15th and 10th all-time leading wicket taker in Tests and ODIs respectively and, still in his 20s, there is no telling how high up that list he may be when he retires.
A skilled lower-order hitter, Starc has nine Test fifties, an ODI fifty and a Test 99 against India to his name and, with 15 five-wicket hauls in all internationals he is one of world cricket’s best fast bowlers.
Injuries aside, Starc has enjoyed his best form for Australia since 2015 and in that time he has claimed a Test best of 11-94 at Galle, 22 Ashes wickets in 2017-18 and the most wickets at the 2015 World Cup.
