The May issue is packed with more superb content than ever and our readership is currently growing faster than at any point since 2009
The Cricketer magazine has been ever-present since our birth back in 1921. We’ve published through World War II, the Cold War and (even!) the introduction of T20. The current pandemic has seen our famous title pulled together from kitchens and bedrooms across the country and we’re delighted to say the May issue is packed with more superb content than ever.
In fact, rather than simply managing the situation and soldiering on, we’re thriving. Our subscription readership is currently growing faster than at any point since 2009, a time when Andrew Flintoff was still pounding in during an Ashes series and Barack Obama had just been inaugurated as US President. Remember those days…
All of our regular writers and columnists feature. George Dobell considers what the cricket landscape will look like when we reach the other side, Nasser Hussain names the four captains he drew the most inspiration from and Barney Ronay sympathises with youngsters who have lost their year of cricket.
Editor Simon Hughes, Paul Edwards, Ian Gould (who was the third umpire during the infamous ‘Sandpaper-gate’ match) and Gideon Haigh all contribute to a magazine that could not be a better companion for indoor isolation.
Managing editor, Huw Turbervill, commented: “We have spoken to more cricketers – past and present - than ever providing a chance to tackle some topics properly after such a frenetic 12 months.
“The magazine is coping very well indeed and we have some extremely exciting projects lined up as we work towards our 100th birthday next April.”
With increased subscriptions and a captive audience, there has never been a better time to discuss your next advertising campaign in The Cricketer. For more information and to hear a friendly voice, contact Ed Krarup on 020 3198 1354 or email Ed.Krarup@thecricketer.com.
