Clubs from all over Europe will compete at the European Cricket League from nations such as England, Ireland, Belgium, Scotland, Sweden and Finland
Bjørvika Cricket Club will be hoping to represent Norway at the European Cricket League. The tournament in 2021, cancelled in 2020, will take place at the La Manga Club & Resort starting on May 30 with the final on June 6.
The Norwegian side had booked their place at the 2020 tournament but it’s cancellation meant that their place in next year’s tournament is uncertain. Sinsen CK won the 1st Division which may set up a seismic clash between the two, with a place in La Manga the prize.
Bjørvika have benefitted from the 2020 competition expanding to 16 teams and were due to be the first club from Norway to play in the tournament. Before the 2020 edition of the tournament was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic they were due to be captained by Ali Sufyan Saleem who is Bjørvika’s leading run-scorer and wicket-taker of all time. He has also captained the Norwegian national team.
The 2021 ECL will be broadcast live once again. Sports Flick will partner European Cricket and have acquired the live rights on an exclusive basis. As a result there will be significant interest in betting on the tournament, offered also by many casino brands with a variety of payment options such as Norwegian Strex casino for example.
Clubs from all over Europe will compete at the European Cricket League from nations such as England, Ireland, Belgium, Scotland, Sweden and Finland. The inaugural tournament in 2019 was won by Holland’s VOC Rotterdam.
Fans will fondly remember the 2019 tournament as Cluj CC’s Pavel Florin received worldwide acclaim for his enthusiasm for the game in a country not renowned for its cricketing interest.
