England’s men are champions of the world for the very first time, and The Cricketer is breaking the mould in celebration.

The August instalment of the world’s oldest and most famous cricket magazine is a tribute to the incredible achievements of Eoin Morgan’s team, reflecting on their rise from one of England cricket’s lowest ebbs in 2015 to the dramatic and seismic final against New Zealand on July 14.

Their victory, by the narrowest of margins, was watched by millions in pavilions, front rooms and city centres across the country.

They brought our great sport back to the forefront of public conversation.

To say thank you, The Cricketer is dedicating a front cover to each of the 11 Englishmen who played in that extraordinary match at Lord’s, with the different versions spread evenly among newsstands across the country.

It is the first time in The Cricketer’s 99-year history that we have produced this many separate covers for the same magazine. But if not now, when?

Editor Simon Hughes said: “It was a brilliant team effort from England, punctuated by exceptional individual performances.

“To reflect each of those individual’s contributions it seems totally appropriate to create 11 separate covers encapsulating each player's style and commitment.

“Cricket is such a photogenic sport and it creates a superb gallery of cover images.”

As cricket fever sweeps the nation for the first time since 2019, we are also dropping our subscription price to encourage new and lapsed fans of the game to immerse themselves in the great game of cricket once again.
