Captain Hollie Armitage is blossoming into Northern Diamonds' star allrounder, hitting the ground running in 2020 with 176 runs and six wickets and hardly slowing down since.
In 2022, she scored 343 runs (a haul bettered by only Lauren Winfield-Hill) and picked up 11 wickets (the third-most in the team) to help steer her side to glory in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy. In T20 cricket, meanwhile, she has topped Diamonds' run-scoring charts in each of the past two seasons as well as chipping in with seven wickets.
The batting-allrounder, who first took up the sport as a 10-year-old, previously played for Yorkshire Diamonds in the KSL, scoring 303 runs, as well as representing Sydney Sixers in the 2019 WBBL.
Armitage, whose cricketing hero is Marcus Stoinis, prepared for the 2021 season with a stint playing grade cricket for Clarence CC in Tasmania and also has a brown belt in karate.
