Mumbai Indians meet Delhi Capitals in the 2021 Indian Premier League.
The game is scheduled for 2pm UAE (11am BST, 3.30pm IST) on Saturday, October 2, 2021.
The two sides will meet at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah.
After 11 matches, defending champions Mumbai Indians are in fifth place with 10 points and are only outside the playoff places on net run rate. However, their form is worrying, with the Indians losing three of their four matches in the UAE. Most recently, Rohit Sharma's team lost to RCB by 54 runs.
Delhi Capitals, by contrast, are in good form, winning four of their past five matches and sitting second in the table, two points behind Chennai Super Kings and six clear of fifth place. If they defeat Mumbai on Saturday, they will secure their spot in the knockout stages.
In the reverse fixture, Delhi won by six wickets.
Dafabet have Delhi Capitals at evens to win while Mumbai Indians are available at 4/5.
The bookies are backing Rohit Sharma to top-score for Mumbia, offering odds of 23/10 against the skipper while Shikhar Dhawan is available at 9/4 for Delhi Capitals.
Mumbai are the favourites to hit the most sixes in Sharjah, with odds of 4/5. Delhi Capitals are at 7/5.
Delhi Capitals will be looking to top-scorer Shikhar Dhawan to help them bounce back from their defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders. Dhawan, ranked 35th on the T20 Player Index, was in imperious form in India, scoring 380 runs. In the UAE, however, he has added just 74 runs since arriving in the UAE. Also keep an eye on Steve Smith, who returned to the XI against KKR and top-scored for Delhi, scoring 39 runs of 34 balls.
With the ball, Avesh Khan impressed against KKR, taking 3 for 13 from his three overs, while Axar Patel was also economical, finishing with figures of 0 for 13.
For Mumbai, Hardik Pandya made a timely return to form against Punjab Kings, scoring 40 not out from 30 balls to see his side to victory. The allrounder has struggled in the 2021 IPL, scoring just 55 runs in his previous seven innings, but his performance against Punjab suggests a return to his destructive best (his T20 strike rate is 142.19) can't be far away.
Jasprit Bumrah has been the pick of Mumbai's bowlers, taking a team-leading 16 wickets and bowling with an economy of 7.62.
Marcus Stoinis and Privthi Shaw are injury concerns for Delhi Capitals. Steve Smith, therefore, is likely to retain both his place in the starting XI and the opener's berth after his performance against KKR. The rest of team is also likely to be unchanged.
Simarjeet Singh has been added to the Mumbai Indians squad as an injury replacement for Arjun Tendulkar. Suryakumar Yadav could find his spot in the XI in danger after scoring just 16 runs in four innings in the UAE.
The two teams have played each other 29 times.
Mumbai Indians: 16

Intermittent cloud cover may provide some respite from the sun in the field but temperatures are expected to reach a scorching 36 degrees Celsius.
