England were dealt a blow when the bowler was unable to continue in Sydney
Liam Plunkett caused England injury problems after he walked off the field just eight balls into his spell in Sydney.
The seamer pulled up in his run-up during his second over at the SCG with a hamstring injury.
Plunkett consulted with his captain, Eoin Morgan, and allrounder Chris Woakes before heading back towards the pavilion for treatment.
"It's a little bit of a concern. It looks like it's gone in the hamstring so that's not good for him," former England captain Michael Vaughan said on BT Sport.
Plunkett's left hamstring was iced in the dressing room in an effort to get him back on the pitch, while Joe Root filled in as England's fifth bowler in his team-mate's absence.
The visitors were defending their total of 302 for six, the bedrock of which was an astonishing century from Jos Buttler.
Buttler cracked 100 not out from 83 balls, reaching three figures off the final ball of the innings.
