James Vince has been added to England's squad for the five-game ODI series against Pakistan following the exclusion of Alex Hales.

The Nottinghamshire batsman's World Cup is over after he failed a recreational drugs test for a second time.

Vince is the frontrunner to replace Hales in the 15-man World Cup party, which England will need to confirm to the ICC by May 23.

He smashed 96 against Glamorgan at the Ageas Bowl on Good Friday and followed that up with a superb 190 against Gloucestershire a week later.

Meanwhile, England have made several further tweaks to their squad for the one-day international against Ireland on Friday, and Sunday's T20I against Pakistan.

Jason Roy has been withdrawn - the Surrey batsman has been suffering from a back spasm - and Ben Duckett of Nottinghamshire called up in his place. Middlesex captain Dawid Malan is also summoned for the two games.

Mark Wood will no longer feature in either match. The seamer will instead play for Durham in two Royal London One-Day Cup matches - against Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire - before joining up with England ahead of the first ODI against Pakistan at the Kia Oval next week.
