Warwickshire have handed a new deal to Tim Ambrose
Tim Ambrose has signed a contract extension with Warwickshire.
The wicketkeeper, whose existing deal was due to expire at the end of the current campaign, has prolonged his stay by a further season.
Ambrose's stint with the county will now come to an end after the 2019 summer.
The 35-year-old has been with Warwickshire since 2006, when he arrived from Sussex.
He has made 11,750 runs, taken 665 catches and completed 77 stumpings for the club over his 12 years in Birmingham.
Ambrose has been at Edgbaston since 2006
“I’m obviously very happy to sign an extension and to stay with the Bears for at least one more season,” Ambrose said.
“With Warwickshire and Birmingham Bears, we as players and our supporters expect to be able to compete for trophies in all three forms of the game, and that has largely been the case throughout my career.
“Admittedly we had a tough season last year, but there has been some good recruitment and some excellent young players have stepped up this season.
“It’s a very exciting time to be a Bear and hopefully we can build on our strong start to the Championship and get back to Division One.”
