Yorkshire have confirmed one player has tested positive for COVID-19.

As a result of being in close contact, Matthew Fisher, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Josh Poysden, and David Willey are all following government guidelines by self-isolating for 14 days.

The quartet have been ruled out of the rest of the T20 Blast group stage and could have played their last match of the season.

"Although it is disappointing that we will be without four key players, we have a duty of care to the wider squad and others," said Yorkshire's lead physiotherapist Kunwar Bansil.

"The health and well-being of the players and support staff is the club’s primary responsibility, as well as protecting the opposition, the integrity of the competition and playing our part in keeping the wider community safe."

All four players were withdrawn from the squad which played Lancashire in the Roses match on Monday as the club awaited the outcome of the test.

The news comes after Gloucestershire and Northamptonshire's Bob Willis Trophy match at Bristol was abandoned earlier this month after a positive test was discovered.
