The Women's Premier League auction took place in Mumbai on February 13. Here are all the deals, and the headlines for each franchise...

Delhi Capitals

Players bought: Jemimah Rodrigues (£220,000), Shafali Verma (£200,000), Meg Lanning (£110,000), Titas Sadhu (£25,000), Marizanne Kapp (£150,000), Alice Capsey (£75,000), Shikha Pandey (£60,000), Jess Jonassen (£50,000), Laura Harris (£45,000), Radha Yadav (£40,000), Minnu Mani (£30,000), Taniya Bhata (£30,000), Poonam Yadav (£30,000), Sneha Deepthi (£30,000), Arundhati Reddy (£30,000), Jasia Akhtar (£20,000), Tara Norris (£10,000), Aparna Mondal (£10,000)

Headlines: A slow start to the auction for Delhi Capitals, who had to wait until the third set of marquee players to land their first star - Indian batter Jemimah Rodrigues. Aussie captain Meg Lanning and teenage opener Shafali Verma follow. As expected, Marizanne Kapp is reunited with her Oval Invincibles head coach, Jon Batty. Capitals also pick up India stalwarts Shikha Pandey and Radha Yadav.

Teenage English batter Alice Capsey gets an excellent deal - 75 lakh - following a brief bidding war. American Tara Norris is an interesting signing for 10 lakh. Australia allrounder Jess Jonassen received a second-round nod at 50 lakh, with Poonam Yadav also joining second time around.

Gujarat Giants

Players bought: Ash Gardner (£320,000), Beth Mooney (£200,000), Annabel Sutherland (£70,000), Deandra Dottin (£60,000), Sophia Dunkley (£60,000), Harleen Deol (£40,000), Sneh Rana (£75,000), Georgia Wareham (£75,000), Sushma Verma (£60,000), Tanuja Kanwer (£50,000), Sabbineni Meghana (£30,000), Mansi Joshi (£30,000), Dayalan Hemalatha (£30,000), Monica Patel (£30,000), Hurley Gala (£10,000), Ashwani Kumari (£10,000), Parunika Sisodia (£10,000), Shabnam Shakil (£10,000)

Headlines: Ash Gardner is the first overseas signing by a WPL franchise, for a whopping 3.2 crore. Sophia Dunkley, the England batter who is becoming to potent in the powerplay, looks to be a steal at 60 lakh - Delhi Capitals were knocked out of that race for a low number. Looks like she'll be paired with Beth Mooney at the top of the order.

UP Warriorz are seen off to land the Australian allrounder Annabel Sutherland, but there was no competition to get Harleen Deol for her 40 lakh base price. West Indies allrounder Deandra Dottin, who has retired from international cricket, is a snip at 60 lakh. Sneh Rana, the India off-spinning allrounder, is a good get.

At the end of her injury nightmare, Aussie spinning allrounder George Wareham gets a 75 lakh payday.

Mumbai Indians

Players bought: Nat Sciver-Brunt (£320,000), Poojar Vastrakar (£190,000), Harmanpreet Kaur (£180,000), Yastika Bhatia (£150,000), Amelia Kerr (£100,000), Amanjot Kaur (£50,000), Hayley Matthews (£40,000), Heather Graham (£30,000), Issy Wong (£30,000), Chloe Tryon (£30,000), Priyanka Bala (£20,000), Dhara Gujjar (£10,000), Saika Ishaque (£10,000), Humairaa Kazi (£10,000)

Headlines: Unsurprisingly, England's allrounder Nat Sciver-Brunt commands a massive fee, with the £320,000 she will get for her WPL appearances almost double what England's top female players can expect to earn in a year. India captain Harmanpreet Kaur will presumably lead this team too - she has been got for a relatively modest fee compared to many of her international peers. Amelia Kerr, the Kiwi allrounder, is an interesting addition for 1 crore.

Pooja Vastrakar, the India allrounder, goes for more than Harmanpreet. Mumbai need to pay 1.9 crore to see off a challenge from Delhi Capitals and UP Warriorz.

Wicketkeeper Yastika Bhatia attracts attention from Gujarat Giants and UP Warriorz, but MI hold their nerve to land her for 1.5 crore. Exciting English seamer Issy Wong could prove to be an excellent addition for her base price 30 lakh.

She had to wait until second time around, but West Indies captain Hayley Matthews is picked up for her base price of 40 lakh.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Players bought: Smriti Mandhana (£340,000), Ellyse Perry (£170,000), Renuka Singh (£150,000), Sophie Devine (£50,000), Richa Ghosh (£190,000), Megan Schutt (£40,000), Heather Knight (£40,000), Kanika Ahuja (£35,000), Erin Burns (£30,000), Dane van Niekerk (£30,000), Preeti Bose (£30,000), Disha Kasat (£10,000), Indrani Roy (£10,000), Shreyanka Patil (£10,000), Asha Shobana (£10,000), Poonam Khemnar (£10,000), Komal Zanzad (£10,000), Sahana Pawar (£10,000)

Headlines: Bang. Smriti Mandhana is the first player sold in a WPL auction, and for an eye-popping 3.4 crore. RCB hit the auction at a sprint, adding Ellyse Perry and Renuka Singh for bumper fees in the early rounds. Sophie Devine, at just 50 lakh, seems to be a bargain, though there may be some concern about her fitness for the 2023 season. Teenage wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh arrives after a bidding war.

England captain Heather Knight is picked up for her reserve price at the second time of asking. Dane van Niekerk, dropped from the South Africa team for the T20 World Cup after being told she runs two kilometres too slowly, has got a 30 lakh contract with the team she supports. Some consolation!

Australian bowler Megan Schutt is added in the final round for 40 lakh.

UP Warriorz

Players bought: Deepti Sharma (£260,000), Sophie Ecclestone (£180,000), Tahlia McGrath (£140,000), Devika Vaidya (£140,000), Shabnim Ismail (£100,000), Grace Harris (£75,00), Alyssa Healy (£70,000), Rajeshwari Gayakwad (£40,000), Anjani Sarvani (£55,000), S Yashasri (£10,000), Shweta Sehrawat (£40,000), Kiran Navgire (£30,000), Lauren Bell (£30,000), Parshavi Chopra (£10,000), Laxmi Yadav (£10,000), Simran Shaikh (£10,000)

Headlines: England head coach Jon Lewis is in charge of the Warriorz, and the addition of Sophie Ecclestone is a smart one. UP seemed to be focused on building a bowling attack in the early rounds, with Deepti Sharma and Shabnim Ismail also acquired. Tahlia McGrath, at 1.4 crore, offers skills with bat, ball and in the field, and seems to be excellent value. Alyssa Healy is a steal at 70 lakhs, while left-arm spinner Rajeshwari Gayakwad is an astute acquisition. Anjani Sarvani is also onboard; she was the first left-arm seamer to play a T20I for India.

Grace Harris, the powerful Australian batter, is a 75 lakh purchase. RCB were also in for her. Devika Vaidya is involved in an intriguing bidding war between UP and Delhi, which UP win with a bumper 1.4 crore bid.

UP Warriorz were the first to complete their business, and were two short of the maximum allocation of 18 players.
