The India captain was seen leaving the field with his thumb dipped in a glass of ice
India captain Virat Kohli "is doing fine" despite suffering a thumb injury scare in a net session yesterday.
Kohli, who is expected to lead his side into their opener against South Africa on Wednesday, was hit on his thumb during a training session at the Ageas Bowl.
Physiotherapist Patrick Farhat soon attended to the Indian skipper and used magic spray on his injured finger and then applied tape on it, before he was later seen leaving the field with his thumb dipped in a glass of ice.
However, team sources told PTI: "He got hit while batting but is doing fine.
"There is nothing to worry as of now."
Kohli hurt his thumb in training
Kohli has not been the only player to have injury concerns ahead of the World Cup, with Vijau Shankar and Kedar Jadhav both having to sit out of the New Zealand warm-up game with elbow and shoulder injuries respectively.
However, Shankar played against Bangladesh in the following warm up, while Jadhav batted in the nets at the Ageas Bowl, which could be an indication that he could be fit in time for the game against South Africa.
