Academy progress, cake and recruitment: No final, but Worcestershire are getting things right
Worcestershire have signed up Tom Fell and Charlie Morris to 12-month contract extensions.
The pair were due to be out of the contract at the end of the 2021 season but have both agreed to remain for another year.
Fell, who made his Worcestershire debut in 2013, enjoyed a fine Bob Willis Trophy campaign scoring a first century for five years against Northamptonshire while averaging 48.
Twenty-eight-year-old Morris, meanwhile, took 14 wickets at 22.50 in his three red-ball outings. He also claimed six scalps in the Rapids' ill-fated T20 Blast campaign.
Head coach Alex Gidman said: "Building a squad that we believe can compete in all competitions takes time. There has been a lot of identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the squad over the last year or two.
After five of the toughest years, a weight was lifted from Tom Fell’s shoulders
"We’ve still got work to do, but we’ve certainly made a huge amount of progress in rebalancing the squad, and both Tom and Charlie have earned the right to be part of that."
Cricket steering group chairman Paul Pridgeon added: "We are continuing what we have tried to do all the way along and that is to look after our players.
"It is great that we have got Tom and Charlie signed up for the next two years."
