Sunrisers have signed Australian bowler Nicola Hancock on a short-term contract.

The Queensland and Brisbane Heat medium pacer will be available for the first block of Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy matches, with the last of her six appearances scheduled to come against Southern Vipers on May 8.

Hancock, 28, recently helped Queensland reach the final of the 2023/24 Women's National Cricket League, taking 10 wickets with an economy of 4.66.

Over the course of her career, she has 56 wickets and an economy of 4.98 from 71 List A appearances.

On joining Sunrisers, Hancock said: "I am really looking forward to this opportunity with Sunrisers, and excited to be joining the group! The London cold might give me a shock but getting out on the pitch with the team will keep me warm!"

Head coach, Andy Tennant, added: "We are delighted that Nic is able to join us for the first block of Rachel Heyhoe Flint Trophy games.

"Nic brings a strong skill set that will bolster our seam bowling unit, as well as some great experience, and is the kind of character that we believe will help move our young playing group forward."
