Sophia Dunkley, Sophie Ecclestone and Kate Cross confirmed for Women's T20 Challenge

After a year off due to Covid-19, the three-team, four-match competition is scheduled to take place between May 23-28

England trio Sophia Dunkley, Sophie Ecclestone and Kate Cross will compete in the upcoming fourth edition of the Women's T20 Challenge.

Covid-19 restrictions prevented the mini-competition from being held in 2021, but it will return between May 23-28.

Spinner Ecclestone, who represented Trailblazers in 2019 and 2020, returns to play for the Harmanpreet Kaur-led Supernovas.

Batter Dunkley will play for Trailblazers, who are captained by Smriti Mandhana, while seamer Cross is part of a Velocity roster skippered by Deepti Sharma.

Each 16-player squad contains four overseas players and India starts including Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Sneh Rana, Pooja Vastrakar and Richa Ghosh.

Supernovas have Australia leg-spinner Alana King, Deandra Dottin from West Indies and South Africa's Sune Luus.

Dunkley is joined at Trailblazers by Hayley Matthews and Bangladesh pair Salma Khatun and Sharmin Akhter.

Proteas pair Laura Wolvaardt and Ayabonga Khaka and Thailand batter Natthakan Chantham join Cross at Velocity.

The fourth season of the T20 Challenge sees a single round-robin phase comprising three matches, before a final between the top two sides. All matches will take place at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
