Jenny Gunn has retired from professional cricket.

The 36-year-old made 259 appearances for England between 2004 and 2019, scoring 2,702 runs and taking 240 wickets. She was a member of three World Cup-winning sides, lifting the 50-over crown in 2009 and 2017 and the T20 title in 2009.

She is one of only 11 women to score more than 1,500 ODI runs for England and sits second in the wicket-taking charts behind Katherine Brunt. She also sits among the top-ten run-scorers and wicket-takers for England in women's T20Is.

Domestically, Gunn enjoyed an extensive career, which saw her represent Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire, and Warwickshire in county cricket and Yorkshire Diamonds and Loughborough Lightning in the Kia Super League.

She also made six appearances for Northern Superchargers in The Hundred and spent time with South Australia and Western Australia.

Gunn finished her professional career with Northern Diamonds, making 24 appearances across all formats and featuring twice as they won the 2022 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.

In total, Gunn scored 391 runs and took 29 wickets in 11 first-class appearances, all of which came for England; 6,465 runs and 320 wickets in 323 List A appearances; and 1,781 runs and 163 T20 appearances.

While at Northern Diamonds and Northern Superchargers, Gunn assisted Dani Hazell in a coaching capacity.

Her retirement was confirmed by Diamonds following the announcement of their 10-strong professional cohort for 2023, with director of cricket, James Carr, showering praise on the allrounder.

"Before I knew Jenny personally, I had huge admiration for the international career that she had. It's been a huge privilege for us all to work with her and learn from her," Carr said.

"She's produced on and off the field, and she's been one hell of an asset for us."
