Rodrigues only managed 22 runs in five innings across two series - against South Africa and England - in her first appearances in ODIs since late 2019
Jemimah Rodrigues was the big-name casualty as India announced their World Cup squad on Thursday.
Rodrigues, who has 71 caps for her country - with 21 coming in one-day internationals, was not included in the 15-woman party for the tournament, which is due to take place in New Zealand in March.
The 21-year-old has been in good form in domestic cricket over the course of the past year, finishing her stint with Northern Superchargers in The Hundred with the second most runs of anyone in the competition (249) at a strike rate above 150.

She also made 333 runs for Melbourne Renegades in the WBBL last year, but that record has not been enough to win over the selectors.
A run of single-figure scores in the 50-over format for India in 2021 have weighed heavy on her chances.

Allrounder Shikha Pandey is also left out of the squad for the tournament in New Zealand. Pandey played three ODIs against England in June and July but subsequently lost her place.
Renuka Singh Thakur, who made her T20I debut against Australia last year, is called up to the 50-over squad for the first time.
