She will miss England's upcoming series against India, with Nat Sciver – her vice-captain, who skippered in the Commonwealth Games, set to deputise once again
Heather Knight has been ruled out for the remainder of the season – and is "aiming to be back by the end of the year" – after undergoing surgery on a hip-joint injury.
The England captain hasn't played since the first T20I against South Africa almost two months ago.
She subsequently missed the rest of the series, initially as a precaution, ahead of the Commonwealth Games but was unable to shake off the problem.
"I've had a little clean out of my hip to get me back and running soon," she tweeted on Friday. "Unfortunately, it rules me out of the India series and the WBBL, but I'm aiming to be back by the end of the year. Time to make the most of a bit of time away and bring on the rehab!"

Knight was replaced by Charlie Dean as London Spirit's captain in The Hundred.
