England dodge Australia and India as Women's T20 World Cup schedule revealed

The tournament will run from October 3-20, with England facing 2023 finalists South Africa in the tournament opener in Dhaka

The schedule for the 2024 Women's T20 World Cup has been confirmed, with England dodging both Australia and India in the group stages.

Heather Knight's side have been drawn in Group B alongside 2023 finalists South Africa, West Indies, hosts Bangladesh and a still to be determined qualifier, and will open the tournament against South Africa in Dhaka on October 3.

Defending champions Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan and a qualifier make up Group A.

The final two spots at the 10-team tournament will be determined on May 5, with Ireland, Scotland, Sri Lanka and UAE advancing to the semi-finals of the final qualifying tournament in Abu Dhabi.

The 20-match group stage will run from October 3-14, with matches split between Sylhet and Dhaka.

The semi-finals will be held on October 17 (Sylhet) and 18 (Dhaka) before the final in Dhaka on October 20. All knockout matches will have a reserve day.

After facing South Africa, England, who have reached at least the last four in the past six tournaments, play Bangladesh (October 5), West Indies (October 12), and a qualifier (October 14).

Other notable fixtures include India versus Pakistan on October 6 and India versus Australia on October 13.
