Adelaide Strikers capture Deandra Dottin and Laura Wolvaardt for WBBL

The West Indian allrounder and South Africa batter sign up for the eighth edition of the Women's Big Bash

Deandra Dottin and Laura Wolvaardt will represent Adelaide Strikers in the eighth Women's Big Bash League.

Allrounder Dottin, who recently retired from international cricket, has previously represented Perth Scorchers and Brisbane Heat in the competition.

In 29 matches, she has scored 424 runs and taken 17 wickets. In total, Dottin has 2,697 runs and 62 scalps in T20 cricket.

"I am so excited to get to Adelaide and play in the WBBL again," said the 31-year-old.

2021-22: Runners-up

"The Strikers are a brilliant team and I hope I can help them take that extra step and bring home the title. I can’t wait to meet all the fans and put on a show for everyone with my new teammates."

Wolvaardt, 23, returns for a third season with Strikers after scoring 381 runs at a strike rate of 121.33 last term.

"I love playing for Adelaide and am so happy that I will return this year," she said.

"We were so close to the title last year and I know that as a team, we can take that next step this season.

"The fans around Australia love the WBBL and support us so well, I am really excited to see everyone again and hopefully put together a strong season."

Strikers finished as runners-up in 2021-22, losing to Perth Scorchers by 12 runs in the final.
