What's the match?

Perth Scorchers take on Brisbane Heat in match 36 of the WBBL; the eighth edition of the tournament.

When is it taking place?

The game is scheduled to start at 3pm local time (4am BST) on Wednesday, November 9.

Where is the match being played?

The game will be played in Perth at Lilac Hill Park.

Who's got the form?

Brisbane Heat have had a mixed time of it in this season's WBBL, winning four of their opening five matches before losing two matches in a row to slip down the table. However, they are back to winning ways after defeating Sydney Thunder (14 runs) and Hobart Hurricanes (four wickets) and currently sit third in the table.

In Georgia Redmayne, they have the competition's leading run-scorer, with the 28-year-old scoring 305 runs at a strike rate of 112.54. However, she has passed 20 just once in her past four outings. Georgia Voll (177 runs) and Amelia Kerr (164 runs) have also impressed with the bat while Laura Harris lit up the competition with a 29-ball 68 against the Hurricanes.

Jess Jonassen (17 wickets) is the competition's leading run-scorer while Nicola Hancock (14 wickets) and Kerr (12 wickets) are also inside the top-10.

Perth Scorchers have been similarly inconsistent. After starting their title defence with three wins on the bounce, they have won just two of their past six and find themselves in fourth position, one point off top spot but only two clear of Hobart Hurricanes in fifth.

Beth Mooney is their leading run-scorer, contributing 258 runs at a strike rate of 110.72. However, runs have not come easily for the Scorchers this season, with Maddy Green second on the list with 146 runs. Sophie Devine is yet to pass fifty and is striking at 101.73.

With the ball, Alana King and Lilly Mills have 11 wickets apiece while Marizanne Kapp has seven and a team-leading economy of 4.84.

When the two sides met earlier in the competition, Perth Scorchers won by three runs thanks a handy knock from Amy Edgar (36 off 26) and crucial middle-order wickets from Mills and King.

What's the key match-up?

Mills and King did a fine job of stifling Brisbane Heat's middle order when the two sides met earlier in the tournament.

Together, they removed Grace Harris (19 off 25), Voll (28 off 23), Kerr (6 off 8) and Laura Harris (6 off 4), with the latter three wickets coming as part of a collapse from 97 for 3 to 110 for 6.

Voll has been particularly dangerous for Brisbane Heat in the middle order while Laura Harris is coming into the game in hot form following her blistering, match-winning half-century against Hobart Hurricanes.

Another middle-order slump will certainly help Perth Scorchers' chances.

What's the weather forecast?

Damp conditions are set to plague Perth in the run-up to the match but the skies are expected to have cleared up by mid-afternoon.

What is the team news?

Both Brisbane Heat and Perth Scorchers have named an unchanged squads.
