Meg Lanning's side comprehensively usurped the previous Women's Big Bash record – Brisbane Heat and Hobart Hurricanes were both bowled out for 66 in 2017 – as they were rolled in just 9.3 overs
Melbourne Stars achieved an unwanted record as they were skittled for just 29 in their Women's Big Bash defeat by Adelaide Strikers, comfortably the lowest total in the competition's history.
Meg Lanning's side comprehensively usurped the previous record – Brisbane Heat and Hobart Hurricanes were both bowled out for 66 in 2017 – as they were rolled in just 9.3 overs.
Only Sophia Dunkley passed three for Stars, with a star-studded top five – Lanning (1), Dunkley (9), Alice Capsey (2), Annabel Sutherland (1) and Maia Bouchier (0) – contributing just 13 runs between them.
There was only a single boundary – a Dunkley six – in the entire innings.
All this in response to Strikers' 177 for 3 in 20 overs, with Katie Mack whacking 86 in 50 balls alongside Laura Wolvaardt (47) and Tahlia McGarth (34*), all of whom outscored Melbourne on their own.

There have been lower scores in international T20 cricket and in domestic competitions around the world, but this was by a stretch the lowest in a professional women's T20 league, well below the 47 mustered by Velocity in the 2020 Women's T20 Challenge.
There were three wickets apiece for Australia internationals Megan Schutt and Amanda-Jade Wellington, while McGrath and Anesu Mushangwe shared the other four wickets between them as Stars were reduced to an ignominious slot in the record books.
