What's the match?

Oval Invincibles host Manchester Originals in the next match of the men's Hundred 2023.

When is it taking place?

The game is due to start at 6pm BST on Wednesday, August 9.

Where is the match taking place?

Oval Invincibles home ground is the Kia Oval in south London.

Who's got the form?

On paper, Oval Invincibles have made a positive start to their Hundred 2023 campaign, claiming victory at Lord's against London Spirit in their opening game of the season and then tying with Welsh Fire in a thrilling match at the weekend.

Despite not having lost yet, the fact that neither of these results has been convincing could be cause for concern for the Invincibles. At the weekend, the south London side put on a good show with the ball, restricting the Fire to a total of 138, largely thanks to Gus Atkinson's three-wicket haul. However, the collapse of the top order early on in the second innings had the Invincibles on the back foot once again, and it took a crucial knock from Tom Curran to bail them out, similarly to their game against the Spirit, where they relied on the experience of Sunil Narine to lead them to victory.

Manchester Originals picked up their first victory of their Hundred campaign after they defeated Birmingham Phoenix in convincing fashion. The Originals set a total of 160 runs, largely down to the powerhouse Jos Buttler, who hit 43 off 33 balls. However, there were contributions all over the Originals batting lineup from the likes of Laurie Evans, Max Holden, Jamie Overton and Usama Mir.

The Originals' bowling attack were on fire, dismantling the Phoenix. Tom Hartley shone with three wickets, but Richard Gleeson, Josh Little, and Mir also impressed.

What's the key matchup?

Both the Invincibles and the Originals boast powerful top orders, which will make for a thrilling contest, particularly during the powerplay. The main man with the bat for the Originals is, of course, Jos Butler, but Phil Salt is perfectly capable of destroying an opposition attack.
