What's the match?

Birmingham Phoenix take on Manchester Originals in the latest game of the 2022 women's Hundred competition.

When is it taking place?

The match is scheduled to commence at 3.30pm BST on Sunday, August 28.

Where is the match being played?

This match will take place at Edgbaston, with the men's fixture following it.

Who's got the form?

Birmingham Phoenix sit third in the table, level on points with second-placed Oval Invincibles and two points clear of the chasing pack with two games remaining. They've won three out of their four fixtures in 2022 but suffered an eight-wicket defeat last time out against the Invincibles.

Sophie Molineux has been the standout performer for the Phoenix, scoring quick runs in the middle order, taking five wickets and posting an economy of 5.36. Em Arlott (five wickets) has gone under the radar while Ellyse Perry and Amy Jones have both scored over 100 runs.

Manchester Originals, by contrast, have just two points on the board from their four matches, losing to Trent Rockets (43 runs), Southern Brave (nine runs) and Northern Superchargers (seven wickets) and beating Welsh Fire by 11 runs.

With the bat, Deandra Dottin is the leading run-scorer (147) but is no longer available after returning to the Caribbean. Emma Lamb is the only other player pass 100 runs. Sophie Ecclestone is the leading wicket-taker, with four to her name.

What's the team news?

Erin Burns comes into the Manchester Originals camp in place of Dottin and will likely slot straight in the XI.

Birmingham Phoenix have no new injury or availability concerns.

What's the key match-up?

Manchester Originals can consider themselves unlucky to have only picked up two points having suffered two close defeats against the Superchargers and Southern Brave. The challenge will be replicating those performances against a strong Birmingham Phoenix side without the influence of Dottin, who has been impressive with bat and ball.

The other challenge will be keeping Australian duo Molineux and Perry quiet. The pair have shone in a star-studded Phoenix side, with Molineux's performance against Northern Superchargers (2 for 11 and 24 off 13). Perry, meanwhile, is scoring at a strike rate in excess of 140.
