What is the match?

Southern Brave host Trent Rockets at The Ageas Bowl in the latest game of the men’s 2022 Hundred competition.

When is it taking place?

The match is scheduled to commence at 6.30pm BST on Thursday, August 25.

Where is the match being played?

The first of a Thursday doubleheader, the Ageas Bowl is the venue, with the women’s fixture between the same teams concluding prior to the men’s match.

Who's got the form?

A battle between the top and second from bottom, it’s not been an easy tournament for Southern Brave as they look to finish their final home match with a victory. Journeying down from the north is table-toppers Trent Rockets, boasting a near perfect record with five wins from their six matches thus far. Both sides meet beneath the Hampshire floodlights on an evening that could seal Rockets’ fate as they hope to book their place in The Hundred Final. For Brave it’s all about pride - their campaign is all-but at an end yet, following Monday’s win, will take confidence in comprehensively defeating Welsh Fire.

What's the team news?

Southern Brave were weakened by the departure of Marcus Stoinis, whose spell on the south coast came to an end with Australia’s ODI series with Zimbabwe. Paul Stirling returned to Brave and struck an excellent 74 from 42 balls as he helped power his side to victory over Welsh Fire. For Trent Rockets they have few injury and squad concerns ahead of their late August excursion to the seaside, and will like to keep their lineup as healthy as possible as they place one eye on the final.

What's the key match-up?

It’s been Dawid Malan’s tournament as the adept batter leads the run scored column with a whopping 241 runs from 130 balls at an average of just over 40. That’s not too bad, and when combined with Alex Hales’ 205 it puts Trent Rockets in a golden light. A top order to fear, it’s reason for the Rockets’ explosive group stage. Rockets’ Samit Patel and Luke Wood both have both taken eight wickets apiece from their opening six games, and will hope to knock James Vince and Ross Whitely off their perches. Both have performed well, scoring 123 and 109 from the competition respectively, but they will have to be ready to outperform what has been a rather impotent bowling attack.
