Northamptonshire will lose Saif Zaib for two Royal London Cup matches after the batsman was picked up on a short-term deal in The Hundred by Northern Superchargers.
Superchargers are without Harry Brook, who is away with England Lions, and have brought Zaib into their squad for the next seven days.
That means he will miss Northamptonshire's games against Hampshire and Glamorgan.
"I'm excited to be linking up with the Northern Superchargers this week," he said.

"It's obviously my first taste of the new format so I'm looking forward to getting going. It's a great opportunity to be involved, even if it's only for a couple of games.
"I'll definitely be supporting the lads from afar."
"The live stream will be on for sure and I'm backing the boys to get it done while I'm away."
Northants will be disappointed to have lost Zaib, especially following his excellent 136 against Essex on Sunday. He is the second of the club's players to have been signed by Hundred sides, following Josh Cobb - who is at Welsh Fire.
