Foster succeeded Darren Lehmann as head coach in February 2022 and has overseen sixth and eighth place finishes during his two seasons in the role
Northern Superchargers will have a new men's head coach in 2024 after opting against renewing James Foster's contract.
Foster was appointed Darren Lehmann's successor in February 2022, making him the first Englishman to serve as a men's head coach in the competition.
However, his two-year tenure at Headingley has not brought success for the Superchargers who are one of only two men's franchises – the other being Welsh Fire – yet to feature in the knockout stages.

In 2022, the Superchargers won four of their eight matches and were only two points behind second-placed Manchester Originals, but finished a lowly sixth on net run rate.
The following year, they picked up five points from their opening three matches (two wins, one no result) before embarking on a five-match losing streak and finishing bottom of the table.
Northern Superchargers' chair, Kirsty Bashforth, said: "We would like to thank James for his two years with the Superchargers and wish him well with New Zealand at the Men's World Cup and in his roles with the Desert Vipers in the ILT20 and with Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL."
Foster added: "I'd like to thank the players, the staff, Marcus North, the board and the fans for what has been a really enjoyable last two years. I wish the team the best of luck for the future."
