The Oval Invincibles batter was struck by Adam Milne during the defeat to Birmingham Phoenix on Sunday (August 13) and will play no further part in the competition according to head coach Tom Moody
Jordan Cox is out of the remainder of The Hundred and will likely require surgery on the hand injury which forced him to retire hurt during Oval Invincibles' defeat to Birmingham Phoenix at Edgbaston
Cox was struck on the right hand by a stinging delivery by Adam Milne 16 balls into the Invincibles' chase of 161 on Sunday (August 13)
He managed to run a single but was in visible discomfort and had to be helped from the field, with his hand under a towel, by the physio.
Head coach Tom Moody has confirmed the blow represents the end of the competition for Cox, who may need a procedure to fix the issue.
"It's not looking good for Jordan," said Moody. "He has gone to hospital to get it looked at properly but he's definitely out of the tournament.

"He's more than likely going to have surgery either this evening or tomorrow morning."
The injury compounded a poor night for Invincibles whose unbeaten start to the tournament was ended after being bowled out for 119 at Edgbaston.
Jamie Smith struck 60 and Moeen Ali hit 33 as Phoenix, winless coming into the game, made 160 for 8 from their 100 balls.
Coupled with the retirement of Cox, Invincibles lost Will Jacks and Heinrich Klaasen inside the powerplay and looked doomed from the outset in the chase.
Ross Whiteley struck 35 while Sunil Narine, playing the final match of his stint, chimed in with 20 but Kane Richardson cleaned up the tail to finish with figures of 4 for 32 from 19 balls to secure a 41-run success.
"It wasn't a good night for us but we have had a good campaign to this point," Moody accepted. "You are always going to face a tough game at some point and tonight was the one for us.

"We have played some good cricket to this point but we just didn't get it right tonight. We didn't bowl as well as we have done in the past and it just seemed that the conditions turned quite nicely and Birmingham bowled particularly well with the new ball and made it very difficult for us.
"I think their score was probably par but I felt that we probably gave them 15 more than we should have done.
"If we were just a little bit tidier with the ball and our execution I think we would have been chasing 140 or 145, but it wasn't to be tonight.
"From our perspective, it's pretty simple, you draw a line under this one and move forward and keep the positivity because there is a lot for us to be positive about."
Invincibles are back in action against London Spirit at the Kia Oval on Tuesday (August 15) while Phoenix, who are off the bottom of the table, are at Southern Brave on Wednesday (August 16).
